Regional driver job description
Driver pay is by the load, and our full-time drivers gross $ 1,600 or more weekly. We are pet-friendly and also have a rider program.
General duties
Driving a Commercial Motor Vehicle within the contiguous United States only. Having familiarity with the operation of an unbaffled Bulk Tank, including hooking and unhooking of hoses. Driver must have a basic knowledge of the operation of a Reefer Trailer. Drivers must comply with DOT regulations, including HOS and Moorman policies and procedures. Good communication with Dispatchers and the timely submission of BOLs and company paperwork. This position requires running Local Hauls when Regional Runs are slow, which includes dropping, hooking, and moving multiple trailers. Unhooking hydraulic lines from Walking Floors is a small part of the Local Haul.
General requirements
Current CDL-A, current DOT physical, at least 23 years of age, at least 2 years of experience driving the same type of CMV. Ability to read and write English and to use a map. Ability to back trailers in tight spaces such as loading docks or parking spaces. Ability to use electronic logs, turn in paperwork, turn in vehicle defects, and record driving time. May occasionally include weekend work.
Physical requirements
Ability to drive for long periods of time; ability to push/pull/lift up to 75 pounds; ability to climb in and out of trucks several times during shift; ability to climb up on the back of a truck and hook up air and electric lines to trailer. Occasionally required to climb up the back to the top of a trailer to vent tanks. Ability to do a thorough pre- and post-trip inspection – this includes opening and closing the hood, bending, reaching, and kneeling, and walking around the equipment, climbing in and out of the truck, and opening and closing truck doors.
